July 2009 Volume 4 Issue 7
President's Report
After my oops last month of resubmitting the May report instead of the one I wrote for June, I will try to do better. For those who are intrigued about the June report and its loss in cyber land...it has not surfaced.
This has been a busy time for me. I have been working on "new" ideas for the 2009-10 year. The board decided not to compete with the two local spring retreats and start a new tradition...a one day "retreat" with a mystery quilt program from Sunnie Malesky of Sunshine State Quilting Association. Some of you may have taken a mystery quilt class at "Expo on the Beach" from Sunnie. She teaches all over the state and customizes her program each time. Saturday, March 13, 2010 is the date to put on your calendar from 9 am-4 pm. Speaking of calendars we are trying to put all dates in this year's book. I am working on another set of Gulf State Quilting Association classes and hope to have them set up soon so that the dates can be included in the yearbook also.
We have held our first board meeting and everyone seems enthusiastic. We will continue holding the board meetings at 9:30 am monthly except during March, June, September and December when we will hold them at 6:30 pm. This schedule affords the night members of the board a chance to interact with the day members.
Our quilt show program is gearing up and looking very promising. The quilt is really coming along; it looks like we have a judge and are working on a location. Remember to get working on the Christmas Shoppe items! November will be here before we realize it...the older I get the faster time seems to fly by. I appreciate all the worker bees that are in our guild. Keep up the good work!
Respectfully Submitted,
Jo-Ellen Rogers

To receive official notices from our guild between the Patchwords Newsletters, please let me know. I will drop last year's list and make a new fresh one to use. Even if it is the same, as before, I need for you to send me an e-mail so I can copy and paste your address into the new list.
To assure that the e-words do not get sent to your spam folder, please put my e-mail address in your address book.
If during the year ahead there are changes in your e-mail address, please let me know the new information. In order to delete your old e-mail address I need it to be included.
