PRESIDENT’S NOTE
Wow! Paducah was great! I traveled with three wonderful quilters and enjoyed seeing the sights with them. We tried to see it all (we made a list so we would not forget anything). I saw many beautiful quilts and got ideas for more quilts than I could ever make.

We saw the Eleanor Burns show and visited her fabric tent three days. I believe we visited all of the vendors. I came home with 24 pieces of fabric (most were one yard cuts), several fat quarters, books, patterns, several specialty rulers and gadgets. I also came home with a few extra pounds, sore eyes from looking and sore feet from walking so much. Now, if I could only find time to use all that I bought!
Now -- Guild business: We have a Committee that will be meeting soon to start planning for the place and time of our next quilt show and also other ways and means activities for the guild. We will have information to present to the board and share with the membership at the June meetings. Anyone is welcome to join the committee.
We will be having the Fall Retreat in October. Bonnie Holley is checking on a time and place to have a Spring 2008 Retreat.
We have several workshops in the making. Dates for some have not been set, but we will have a Christmas workshop the third Wednesday in July. Some workshops will be during the week and some on Saturdays. Hopefully both day and night members will be able to attend some.
New challenge for next year. Still need a theme, if you have any suggestions, please share them.
Until next month--keep stitching. God Bless You.

EVENING NEWS - Jo-Ellen Rogers
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the evening group for their support this year. With the help of such generous ladies, we have had a full schedule of sit n' stitch and refreshment committees. The standing committee members: Ann Vassie (evening secretary), Sam Lopez (librarian), Donna Gibbens (historian), Regina Johnson (hospitality) and Linda Kelley and Helen Jeroski (nominating committee) have done an excellent job. Their willingness to help, whatever the task, is appreciated and their smiling faces are so encouraging. I thank you all for having enough faith in me to continue for another year. We are here to improve the guild so, if you have any ideas, please contact one of us. Our standing committees have agreed to go on for another year so I look forward with a sense of relief and anticipation. I am glad to be a member of such a vibrant group.
I found a hooded sweatshirt at the April meeting. Please contact Jo-Ellen Rogers if it’s yours. |

GOODBYE - Helen Russo
Joining the Quilt Guild almost 14 years ago was one of the "Best" decisions I ever made. It enabled me to make some of my closest friends. I will truly miss seeing everyone.
I will be moving to North Georgia at the end of June. My daughter, Joy, will stay here in Panama City to continue her studies at FSU. Noel will attend Wildwood Christian Academy as a 3rd grader.
It's been my pleasure to serve the Guild as its Treasurer two times, as 1st V.P., as Publicity Chairman and as Chairman for our Relay for Life Team. I encourage all new members to take an active role because it's a wonderful way to get involved and make good friends.
Love to ALL,
Helen |

Ladybugs are going to be making Hearts out of Flannel and Fleece at their meeting this month for Breast Cancer Patients.
Donna and her daughter from the GadAbouts are on a 3 week trip to Germany checking out all the Quilt Shops over there, looking forward to a report when she gets back.
The Sisterhood is still working on a Block Exchange among themselves. Don't miss the June Meeting as they will be putting on a Program about Round Robins. Anyone having one completed is asked to bring it to the meeting..
The Baltimore Babes are still doing appliqué and inviting anyone interested to join them at the QUILT ROOM at the Church between 8:30 and 11:30, the 4th Thursday of the month. You don't need to appliqué, you can do any hand work.
Honeybee members choose a block they want made and each takes a turn at having her block made by all the members, thus producing a nearly finished quilt when they have all had a turn. |

Sunshine and Shadows - Bobbi Clemens
• Congratulations to Tomoko Ramsen, on the birth of her son. A wonderful world of adventure lies ahead.
• Several of our members have had surgery recently, Shirley Vaucher, Bernice Stickle, and Sarah Hutton. You are all in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
• Life time member, Mary Ola Miller, is recovering from a recent fall. We wish her well.
• India Belise is experiencing a lot of pain in her leg as a result of a torn ligament. Rest is the current form of treatment until surgery can be performed. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
• Congratulations to all the children and grandchildren of members who are graduating from high school or college. Good luck and best wishes for a bright future.
• Helen Russo will be moving to north Georgia, in July. We will miss her as she has been such a vital part of the guild. She has been a very active member and always willing to go that extra mile to do her share. We wish you well in your new home. Keep in touch with us, as you are very special to the guild.

NOTE FROM SARAH
As this is my last newsletter, I would like to say "Thank You" to all the wonderful quilters who support the guild. Many thanks to Susie who made my job as Patchwords editor easier. Let's remember that the guild needs all of us to function smoothly. Let's all pitch in and say "I'll help" when asked. You don't have to be an officer or committee chairperson. I regret that I am not able to continue as your editor but I am out of town so much that it becomes hard to get the letter out on time. Please contact Linda Aspinwall with all your news and reports.
