CHURN DASH

For a 9" Block

Fabric Requirements:

Fabric 1 - Light beige tone-on-tone or light beige with small print
Fabric 2 - Any dark/contrasting fabric

Cut:

Fabric 1
... 1 square 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" (Pattern Piece C
... 2 squares 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" (Pattern Piece A)
... 1 strip 2" x width of material (Pattern Piece B)

Fabric 2
... 2 squares 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" (Pattern Piece A)
... 1 strip 2" x width of material (Pattern Piece B)

Cutting/Sewing

Directions

1. Make two half square triangles. Place 3 7/8" square of each color together, with right sides facing. On the lighter fabric mark a diagonal line from corner to corner, make a dotted line 1/4" from the diagonal. Sew on the dotted lines, cut on the solid diagonal lines. Press to the dark. Repeat with two other 3 7/8" squares for a total of four half-square triangles.
2. Sew the 2" strips of light and dark fabrics together. Press to dark. Cut into 3 1/2" lengths.
3. Using the pattern, assemble the block sections into the Churn Dash!
4. Enjoy! Make some for yourself and make some to donate to the Guild to sell in the Boutique.
